The 2006-2008 SRT8 came from the factory with a small spline outer CV, that quickly became a big problem for higher HP cars right from the start. Since the beginning we have offered full-chromoly true performance axles for the car, but recently, “budget” axle upgrades have been made available from other companies. This new generation set of axles uses the later (2009-2010) factory axles, modified and being sold as “performance axles” for the early SRT8. Anyone in the know is aware that it is a 2009-2010 5.7 Automatic rear axle (Mopar part# 5180490-AC -complete with the yellow covers that Mopar uses to protect the ABS Tone rings) with the later 2009+ hub/bearing (Mopar part # 4578732-AD), that is a direct fit for the early SRT8. This axle set, with an upgraded bar, is being sold as a very expensive upgrade to inexpensive factory parts.
